Mike's history with the club in his own words:
On or about August of 1970 I joined the Diablo 4 Wheelers. I owned a 1959 Willys Jeep wagon and became a member of what was then called the California Association of 4 Wheel drive Clubs.
I became the President of the Diablo 4 Wheelers for three years and Vice President for three years. I was also the State delegate for many years. At some point one of our members had attended a poker rally and reported that he had a lot of fun and that we as a club should host a poker run, thus RUN A MUCK was born, the first event was held in North Bloomfield on July 14th 1974 we held the event there for a couple years then moved it to Bowman Lake for a few years then eventually moving the event to Bear Valley campground. I took the responsibility of chairing the event a couple times and we held the event for a number of years before shutting it down due to the lack of participants and other things that would curtail the event.
In 2004 I had the privilege of chairing the California four-wheel drive Association Convention in Reno Nevada which was a huge success and again in 2007.
In all my years as a member of the Diablo 4 Wheelers and the California 4-wheel association I have enjoyed the many friendships and comradery. The Diablo 4 Wheelers have the distinction of being one the finest family 4-wheel drive organizations in the state for their many accomplishments they have endured. Awards from the Association including receiving many conservation awards and the first recipient of the Association's Lew Siepert Memorial award and supporting many other Association events.
I am proud of my time as a member with the Diablo 4 Wheelers and have wished them well in their many endeavors as they go forward. - Mike F.
